Hello World!

I sit on my lanai, cats lounging around, anhingas soaring overhead. I am moments from the Gulf and I can feel it! I move from one dream to another, sleepily, confused, awake for brief moments before surrendering again to slumber.

My name is Katharina and I am a poet and artist who grew up in Southwest Florida. I write about water, Earth, my emotions, love, and whatever else inspires me.

I’m 23 and believe in better worlds, love my cats, and wish for sovereignty and peace. I recognize that every small action ripples. I hope to connect with more Earth lovers and dreamers, across the globe. While I don’t want an online presence, in this modern day, it is semi required. I tell myself it’s temporary, we will find new and better ways to communicate.

Anyway, that was just a brief introduction. I’ve been writing essays and longer pieces, so I needed a place to put them. Most of my work is oriented towards self reflection and ecological observation/action. This planet is our greatest teacher and we need to remember how to listen. We must come back to her in order to move forward, remember our history to learn our futures. There is hope, although we have much to sacrifice (convenience.)

It’s nice to meet you, even if I already know you. May my words inspire you to go outside and take a deep breath. To remember to slow down and trust yourself. I hope you remember how much you love to read and keep reading. And maybe share your voice yourself. < 3

Happy equinox! a red bellied woodpecker sings, the moon dissolved in Pisces and has risen in Aries. may fire cleanse you.
